Welcome to Samtida Musik!
We begin our spring season on March 12 at Teaterstudio Lederman, Gästrikegatan 13, T- S:t Eriksplan, with Brazilian pianist Paulo Alvares, an old acquaintance of Samtida Musik. He last did us the honours participating in a two-concert presentation of Dieter Schnebel’s music 2005 - 2006.
He has given recitals and played concerts with orchestras all over Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North and South America.
Paolo Alvares has collaborated with Mauricio Kagel, Helmut Lachenmann, Luciano Berio, Earle Brown, Tristan Murail, Emmanuel Nunes, Peter Eötvös, Dieter Schnebel and Gerhard Stäbler.
Since 1997 he teaches contemporary music and improvisation at the Musikhochschule in Cologne where he has also founded an ensemble for aleatorian music.
This winter Alvares is a guest teacher at the Piteå College of Music. We were contacted and asked if we would be interested in doing a concert with him in connection with his visit in Sweden.

Anders Jonhäll, flute & Daniel Norberg, percussion.
Anders Jonhäll holds the position as Principal Flautist with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
Daniel Norberg, is Sub Principal Timpanist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Stockholm.
Both of them co-founded the Gagego ensemble, one of Sweden’s leading ensembles for contemporary music.

Peter Söderberg has a long history with Samtida Musik as a musician, presenter, and previous member of the board and the election committee.
He is a guitarist on the free improvisation scene and a lutenist with a repertoire ranging from the 1500s and onwards. Söderberg has performed lots of contemporary music for the Lute as a soloist and with the Low Dynamic Orchestra, Ensemble Lipparella and others.
Mikko Perkola has performed with Norwegian Baroque Orchestra, the Icelandic Chamber Orchestra, Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Battalia, Retrover, Ensemble Severin, Wieland Kuijken, Laurence Dreyfus, Topi Lehtipuu, Hans-Ola Ericsson, Anna Lindal, Markku Luolajan-Mikkola and others.
Perkola has a wide range as a musician having collaborated with a large number of artists playing just about everything from early music to multi media.
He teaches Viola da Gamba and early music in Lahti, Finland.
Erik Peters, is a composer, as well as member of the board of Samtida Musik.
In his music he often combines electronics and traditional instruments. Erik Peters teaches at
Gotland’s Composers School and the Ingesund College Of Music.
